History:

ML.MS.09 through ML.MS.17 are part of manuscripts brought from Egypt by an English clergyman, Rev. Robert Mosley Master in 1819. He was born in 1790 to a clergyman father and his last known profession was the Archdeacon of Manchester from 1854 until his death in 1867. I am presuming that he was a part of the early mission of the Anglican Church to Egypt that began in 1815. This mission was concerned with converting Moslems and with helping the native Church rather than convert its members. This enhances the research value of these manuscripts beyond their contents. The majority of these items were received in early September 2006 None of the manuscripts are complete. They were all purchased from a Greek antiquity dealer in Winchester, MA.
